About

For more than 20 years, the Ndako ya Biso project, led by LBM (Lisanga mpo ya Bokolisi Mboka) in Kinshasa, has been supporting children and young people living on the streets on their journey towards a safer and more dignified future. Its approach goes far beyond emergency assistance: it aims to protect children, restore family ties, and promote their sustainable reintegration into their families and communities.

Each year, nearly 1,000 children and young people benefit from the project through a comprehensive approach combining shelter, psychosocial support, access to education, vocational training, family assistance, and community awareness-raising on children's rights. This integrated model addresses both the causes and the consequences of life on the streets.

Since its creation in 2004, the project has enabled more than 3,500 children to be reunited with their families. Every year, hundreds of children continue their education, many young people gain access to vocational training or employment, and vulnerable families receive economic support that fosters lasting reintegration and helps prevent future family breakdowns.
